Build product scenarios
You can use the Product scenarios tool (in the Onboarding module) to identify key data points for your organization to upload to IBM Food Trust™. Each product scenario that you create is an instance of your supply chain product process maps. Your process maps can range from simple to complex, depending on the scale of your food supply chain and the quantities and complexities of your products.
Before using the Product scenarios tool, you must complete the following steps to register assets for your organization:
Consider the following usage notes when using the Product scenarios tool:
- The most basic product scenario that you can create requires one Commission Event and one Aggregation Event.
- You can click on any event to edit the event.
- When you upload the same scenario data multiple times, it is replaced, not appended. You can therefore use these uploads for test data.
The following screenshots demonstrate building a product scenario from a baby spinach supply chain process map. After you define the product, you can add ingredients, raw materials, and semi-finished products, facilities, and events data. Your endpoint is a complete end-to-end scenario containing data points for the product.
Start with a supply chain process map, as shown in Figure 1:

You can now upload this scenario data to IBM Food Trust, and download XML files for this scenario to use as an XML template for automation.
